Potion’s venom glows brightest when: • She’s angry • She’s in Feral Mind • She is defending her burrow • The moon is full • She smells fresh carrion

Her eyes glow the same green color — matching the bottle you showed.

Potion does NOT inject venom like a snake. Instead, just like real Gila monsters: 1. She bites and holds on 2. Her venom flows through grooves in her teeth 3. The venom slowly enters the wound 4. Her prey becomes paralyzed, weak, or delirious

Potion’s venom is her signature weapon — the ability that truly gives her the name “Potion.”

🟢 What Her Venom Is Like

Think of something similar to the bright, glowing green liquid in the bottle you shared — toxic, potent, and dangerous. Potion’s venom: • Has a sickly green glow (unlike real Gila monsters — this is her Halloween twist!) • Is thick and slow-moving • Smells sharp and chemical, like something brewed in an underground cauldron • Becomes even more powerful when she enters Feral Mind

Enhanced Smell (How Potion Uses Her Tongue)

Gila monsters — including your character Potion — don’t rely on their noses the way mammals do. They “smell” with their tongues.

Here’s how it works: 1. Potion flicks her forked tongue out, just like in the photo. 2. The tongue collects tiny scent particles from the air or ground. 3. When she pulls her tongue back in, she touches those particles to the Jacobson’s organ (also called the vomeronasal organ) in the roof of her mouth. 4. This organ analyzes the chemicals and tells her: • What animals have passed by • If carrion is nearby • If water is close • If danger is present • Even which direction the scent is strongest 5. Her forked tongue helps detect direction — each fork picks up slightly different scent traces. • If the left side picks up a stronger smell → prey is left • If the right side is stronger → prey is right

This gives Potion a supernatural tracking ability, perfect for a haunted canyon hunter.

• Low, raspy hissing — warning enemies to back away • Deep guttural growls when defending her territory • Soft clicking sounds made with her tongue as she smells for carrion • Heavy, scraping claws on canyon rock as she crawls • Slow rattling exhale that echoes through tunnels, like a ghostly sigh • Quick snapping sounds from her jaws when she strikes at prey • Quiet rumbling noise from her throat when she’s restless or hunting
