The red dunes of Mars trembled as the Sand Dragon erupted from beneath, its scales gleaming like molten rock. Towering above the battlefield, its amber eyes burned with fury.
The Space Marines, clad in reinforced exo-armor, formed a defensive line. Plasma rifles hummed, locking onto the beast. “Fire!” The air ignited with laser bursts, illuminating the Martian duststorm.
The dragon coiled, its massive wings unfurling, whipping up cyclones of sand. It roared—an ancient, thunderous cry, shaking the ground beneath them. A Marine was thrown off balance, his armor scraping against jagged terrain.
Lieutenant Rho launched a tactical barrage, targeting the dragon’s core. Plasma rounds struck true, carving molten streaks along its scales. The beast shrieked, collapsing into the shifting dunes.
Silence. Then a Marine smirked, reloading his rifle. “One less nightmare on Mars.”
The battle was won, but Mars was never tamed
