Haunted Holidays – The Last Midnight Ball

The clock struck midnight, and for the first time in decades, the sound echoed clear and steady through the tower’s hollow bones. The guests stirred ... not in surprise, but in memory ... as if some forgotten rhythm had called them home. Gold and silver confetti drifted like frozen time, and the chandeliers hummed in quiet gratitude.

Near the marble floor, a lantern had gone cold. A coat lay folded in its own shadow, a broken watch beside it... its cracked glass pulsing faintly, alive with one last heartbeat of light. A silver moth rested on the dial, wings trembling, waiting.

The dancers moved again, graceful and weightless, as if nothing had ever been broken at all. But in every turn and every waltz, the air whispered his name ..Silas... a soft echo between seconds.
