The Submarine Tender sees to the needs of a fleet of assigned submarines, effecting repairs and resupplying her to enable her to carry on her mission. The Tender herself usually only goes to sea if there is a big storm coming in or if a submarine is unable to return to port under her own power. (I know a little, I actually served on one for three years!)
