One boy still had a divider pegged into the top of his head when the teacher returned to class. It might have been a compass. I was in a state of shock. It was my first experience of high-jinks at a school for spirited boys.

Hectic! We never had a divider in the head but there were 'Chicken' challenges where the aim was not to pull your hand away otherwise you would be 'Chicken' when someone would stab at the spaces between one's fingers of your hand laid flat on a table, normally palm down. There would be the regular miss and someones flange or web between figer bones was stabbed, The worst wide off I remember was someone being stabbed just mm's away from the vein between index and middle finger, I shiver remembering the scene now, that guy was in so much pain
