Thank you.  The historical photographs of the Kimberley Big Hole are astounding.  Thousands of tiny claims were registered over the surface of the kimberlite pipe.  Every claimant just kept digging their little section until the collective effort was stopped by water ingress.  There's little you would find surprising, but plenty in the local museum you'd probably find interesting.  So much wealth was being generated that a little mining camp became the first town in the southern hemisphere to have electric street lighting and reticulation.

My Great Grandfather Alessio, in the late 1800s went to Kinberley to dig diamonds. He made a decent fortune and bought a house in Montecreto (where I now vacation), sheep, woods and a large farm with a farmhouse in Rovigo (now seen).
