Kai Brickle is a failed, super-soldier prototype simply because she is too kind. Obviously, "they" hadn't fixed a flaw that had turned up in Kai Sondra. She, too, was too kind. But she was also too smart. As for Logana Grey, she is absolutely too smart despite being "wonderfully vicious."
