It's not easy being a cyborg with multiple personalities. Nor is it easy to be a polymorphic shapeshifter with the same dilemma. Being both is arguably the least of Polycline-57's problems.
After all, if she is "57," then where are the other 56? And is she the last in her sequence?
More accurately, she doesn't "have" multiple personalities per se. She is a multiple personality -- much like a Portuguese man o' war is a colonial organism. Another way to describe it is as an internalized hive mind.
