“As for the rest of you, you will spend the evenings cleaning and repair the tavern. This establishment will remain closed until all repairs are made. And there will be no talk of demons or goddesses in this house. If you quarrel, take it to the council, not each other's faces.” The room grumbled ascent. Slowly men and women began riding benches and helping the injured sit.
The constable pulled out a book and pencil from his bag. “As you file out, give me your name. I will be visiting you tomorrow.” The patrons did so until Kite and Henderson along with serving girls, the fiddler, Fairbairn, and Edward were left.
Helena entered, her presence a common counterpoint to the tension that lingered. She touched Fairbairn’s arm gently, checking her with a healer's eye.

“Are you hurt?” Helena asked. Fairbairn shook her head. “Nothing more fussing over. Edward took worse.”
“I'm fine,” put in Edward. “Just a few bruises, nothing broken.” He stooped to pick up the remains of the lute cradling it with a painful expression.
Fairbairn touched his arm gently. “We'll find you another and next time, maybe a quieter stage,” the Scot said.
Edward smiled at her, bruised but earnest. “As long as you're there to play the whistle with me.”
“I would be honored,” said Fairbairn as she smiled.
Helena exhaled softly, relief rushing over her. Yet in the back of her mind, unease lingered. The Lady’s shadow had stretched further in further tonight—beyond the youth, into the hearts of grown men and women.
And that, she knew was only the beginning.

Lovely. And I confess I do enjoy the shorter reading time for a part. For me, more shorter parts than a single long one works better.
You can thankfully correct this in the description. "riding benches" . . . "righting"
