Done in the style of Eric Parker, who illustrated many of Sexton Blake's adventures in British story papers over a period of decades. I'm assuming that Sexton Blake entered the drawing room of an English country house, sometime in the 1910s, and discovered the room was being searched by a man who didn't belong there -- neither part of the resident family, nor a servant, nor an invited guest. Blake, being a private detective, naturally wants to keep the man in custody until the matter can be cleared up.
