The Artist Formerly Known As Prince was once again known as Prince, as he had become the anointed Prince of the city of Soul, in the region of Earth shrouded by purple mountain's majesty, simply called Funk, and left at that. If anyone asked for a further explanation, they were immediately deported, given a one way ticket to Squaresville, a small town where nobody sang, nobody danced and everyone's drivers license was printed on a pocket protector.
Prince the Prince formerly known as The Artist formerly known as Prince was a mouthful too grandiose even for the eclectic, reclusive lord and master of soulful 80's rock R&B, and so, by his funky decree and with a rueful shake of his head, he redubbed himself, Lord Hammercy. You may bow.
And bow they did, construction workers and cops and indians, like a sea of the Village People, everyone genuflected and bent the knee before Lord Hammercy, Prince of the city of Soul, nestled in the purple mountain's majesty, known as Funk.
