Helena stepped out of the monastery and onto the main street of the village. As she walked, she caught sight of Maerwynn, who was coming back from the mercantile. The girl caught sight of Sister Helena.
Upon seeing each other, the two expressed feelings of joy. Maerwynn ran up to Sister Helena and gave her a hug. Sister Helena reciprocated.
“Hello, Sister Helena!”
“Hello, Maerwynn!” Upon seeing Helena in her habit, the child's faces lit up even further.
“You look like you did when I saw you in my visions!”
“Well thank you, Maerwynn,” Sister Helena replied.
“Could I wear clothes like that?”
“Only if you feel called to it. It's not just a costume, you know. I'm part of a religious order called the Carmelites.”

This is truly a pivotal moment for Helena, and the fact we hear that the 'Lady' is coming, adds a chilling moment of suspense. Well done Matt! And just adore that image.

“Mama had me go to the market and then to Miss Shakespeare's house to deliver some supplies to her.”
“And what does Miss Shakespeare do?” Sister Helena asked.
“She's studying to be an alchemist like my Mama.”
“Your Mama is an alchemist?”
“Indeed. After her great illness she earned wanted to learn how to cure people like the lady with the flaxen hair did to her.”
