Haunted Holidays – The Gift That Wasn’t Meant to Be

Back inside the pumpkin home, the crypt mice finally settled down to open their presents. Pip, Patch and Whisper had manged their existence in frost, curses and questionable crafting attempts. Christmas could finally begin.

Or so they thought.

The biggest box sat in the middle, wrapped in midnight-blue paper and tied with a perfect ribbon. No one remembered placing it in their home ...but no one questioned it either. They were crypt mice. Strange was normal.

Patch untied the ribbon. Whisper lifted the lid. A soft hum filled the air.

Then the glow began.

A twisting tendril of otherworldly light uncoiled from the box, elegant and patient....like it had been waiting. Pip stared. Patch leaned in. Whisper tilted their head.

None of them screamed. They simply exchanged a curious glance.

Some gifts aren’t found. They choose you.
