Beatrice, radiant in white, held her fiancé's gaze. "To have and to hold, in sickness and in health..." Her voice, laced with emotion, trembled on the precipice of "until death do us part."

Then, a deafening screech tore through the air. A rogue truck, tires screaming, careened off the road. The world dissolved into a horrifying blur.

Bea gasped awake, the rhythmic lapping of water against wood her only companion. Fireflies, like scattered stars, twinkled in the twilight sky. She sat up, heart hammering against her ribs. Her wedding dress was tattered, the venue nowhere to be seen. Instead, she was in a small wooden boat, gliding down a silent river.

Her husband and all the attendants weren't there. Bea was alone in an unfamiliar world. She clapped her hand to calm herself. A translucent screen apperared.
