1. The Platypus Paradox

The Doctor was staring very intensly at what appeared to for all obvious reasons an intriguing detailed brass statue of a platypus in which the artist had delicate clockwork parts integrated, in short a beautiful piece of art.

It appeared to be a fascinating yet inanimate object, nothing more special than a rather remarkable work of artisan skill. Well, that is what a human sees while looking at it.

To a human it looked and felt like any other object as well, but to the Doctor it was the furthest thing from that - not a thing at all for a fact. To his senses, it felt alive, inactive, sleeping maybe, yes, but to him this platypus felt as alive as the Tardis did, yet something wasn't right with it.

It also felt vaguely familiar although he couldn't quite figure where he had seen something like this before...

📖 Hmm... I cannot help it, had sneak one of those in here, but the Doctor double was the ai's idea.
