It did, for pre-certification "hot and high" (less dense air) trials in February '73.  Even as a lover of aircraft, Concorde really was in a class of its own. There were further supersonic trials off-shore from Cape Town in '76.

I never saw Concorde but it must have been very exciting.

I am sometimes amazed by what the AI does.  I'm sure the Std 9s did string up a couple of fairy light ropes though.

This is one area where I've always felt jealous of people from smaller towns.  They definitely party better!
