Alien Zen

ℹ️ Zen is a school of Mahayana Buddhism that originated in China during the Tang dynasty, later spreading to Japan and other parts of East Asia. Emphasizing meditation (zazen), mindfulness, and direct personal insight, Zen aims to awaken practitioners to their true nature and the nature of existence. Rooted in the teachings of Siddhartha Gautama (the Buddha), Zen incorporates elements of Taoism and Confucianism, emphasizing simplicity, spontaneity, and the direct experience of reality over reliance on scriptures or intellectual knowledge. Zen practitioners often engage in practices such as koan study, meditation under the guidance of a teacher (roshi), and mindfulness in everyday activities.
