In this support room defining popular terminology I give open feedback. Which I haven't in my parallel "Beefcake Cyberpunk" twist on the DC:

Even though we did much better here.

The winner David Resnick demonstrates that you don't necessarily need references to Chinatown and building decay - though his eerie room is full of technology, but not scifi walls - when the caption and the protagonist are this intensely ethically corrupt, lol. That's what it takes to win - if cyberpunk fans vote.

In the DC most aren't. The Top 20 feature 1 clear visual reference, 3 slight ones, 1 in caption & no ethical decay at all. The winner's caption is wrong.

Next:

Love this anime freeze frame. I have seen them a lot back in the days. To qualify as cyberpunk for the fans it would need a caption mentioning some sort of ethical decay as the image itself is not showing any decay in buildings or morals (cable piracy). However, there is the slight reference of possible Chinatown and thereby cyberpunk movie Blade Runner.
