Scrapling

Lore & Behavior: Born in the forgotten corners of landfills, Scraplings are the first stirring of sentience in refuse. They feed on decay and movement — drawn to warmth, motion, and noise. When frightened, they collapse into a lifeless pile, disguising themselves among normal trash. They often form small packs that scuttle beneath the moonlight, communicating through squeaks of compacted tin and the soft clatter of bottle caps. Scraplings are timid but vengeful: anyone who mocks them or burns trash in their presence will find their homes filled with buzzing, whispering plastic the next morning.
