Aside from the controversy of the season, rookie Ferrar driver Firecat Wyral, the son of Swish Wyral and General Pakit T'Thract, vied with Bloop Ronul and Tinna Vander for thrilling finishes and a rolling, brawling three-way fight at the top. By mid-season Vander had defended her title adroitly, but the death of Ayala Sedwin changed Vander's driving afterward.

Bound with guilt and booed by fans, Vander secured victory by winning at Bannerdye, at which point there were not enough races left in the season for Bloop Ronul to beat her for the title. Skyvander did not finish the season, again the wrong PR choice. The owner pulled the team in ignominy, making Bannerdye SkyVander's last race on Portus.
