Greystones Boarding School

I still remember my first day at Greystones vividly. The fear, trepidation and homesickness was overwhelming. It was here that I would learn Languages (Latin, Church Slavonic and Babylonian), Science (Anatomy, Xenobiology and Experimental Surgery), Comparative Religion (Revelations, Occult Theosophy and Romanian paganism) and History (all of it).

Discipline was tough, with the rack and the thumbscrew being particular favourites of old Mr Borislav, the drooling lunatic who was responsible for teaching the boys manners. I remember Borislav listening keenly every supper time, straining to straighten his crooked back as he looked up adoringly at the headmaster, Professor Kruto, reading the roll of wicked boys through the round lenses of the steel-rimmed glasses perched on the end of his long, stern nose.

Oh how I loathed Greystones.
