Enrapture: Captured On Film

When photography was in its infant years, some superstitions held that to have your picture taken was to have your soul captured and stolen away.

Such thoughts are just that,: superstitions with no basis in truth.

And yet, some careful souls took precautions.

Just in case.

This very photograph should be entirely black and white.

And yet, there she is.

She is enchanting, for she enchanted her soul to protect herself.

The enchantment lures in any who would dare to treat her soul like a plaything.

They get lost in her alluring eyes. They are transfixed by her luscious lips.

She is safe, and so is her soul.

Those who would have corrupted her will forget to eat, forget to drink, forget to sleep, forget to breathe.

They will forget everything as their souls are captured by her enchanted visage.

Far away from the photograph, she savors the sweet taste of irony.
