A sad thing. To think of her, is to think of her pain I cannot prevent...of the happiness I cannot provide...of the joy she never shows...of the anger she has inside because of all of it!
Her pain pursues without relenting. It has chased all her life away. It hides waiting in her bathroom, and strikes her getting up and down. Laughing in her clothes closet, as she reaches for her night gown. Its sharp refrain adds more to the pain, and all she can force is a frown. This relentless beast of burden has come into her life to stay.
