His fur, a midnight velvet, sleek and fine, As he surveys his domain, a realm divine. From rooftops high, he claims his throne, In the silent hours, he reigns alone.
With eyes like amber, gleaming bright, He guards his territory through the night. Every corner, every alley, every lane, In his realm, he holds the reign.
A sentinel of shadows, ever discreet, The black cat watches, his presence sweet. In the stillness of the night, he'll stay, On the rooftop, overlooking his domain, he'll sway.

I have the pleasure of being owned by a black cat now and had one before, but she passed in 2019. ♥ Black cats are pretty nice, and I have found them to be quite loving individuals. It's as if they know how little chance they have of getting out of shelters alive. I have a pipeline to my local shelter, and if a black cat / cats come in, I get on the horn to the rescues so we can get them out of the shelter system and into foster homes until a fur-ever home comes open. We also do not adopt out black cats around October because a bunch of *&^%%$$ people live in and around here. :-)
