I think she has to pick it up directly on the spot... 🙈 

She had barely started her day when she got the call. "Something is in the pool" the guest reported. "It might be dodo!" Just how she wanted to start her day she thought. But she was working the front reception desk at the hotel and had to go investigate. She got someone to cover, grab some gloves and headed to the pool. When she got there she turned the sign to closed and headed to investigate. It definitely wasn't what was reported because there was nothing floating around. But then she saw it, a dark object on the bottom of the pool the looked like a dog bone. What was it she wondered. She went to grab the pool strainer to try and fish whatever it was off the bottom.

I knew it... 😅 She works at night? Then there must not be many requests... It would probably be worse in the morning and during the day... ☺️ 

The evening shift, when it's the busiest with check-ins.😊

Oh well, she'll have a lot of fun that evening. 😄 

As soon as she tried pulling it up with the pool strainer, she knew what it was. She went to the gym window to look and sure enough the little dumbbell was missing. "Who would throw that in the pool?" she thought. It was only 5 lbs, but too heavy to get with the strainer. She sighed and waded down the steps into the pool. She didn't care sbout getting wet, she actually was looking forward to it. It was just pretty early in her day and she had planned this for the end of the night when she was closing the pool for the night. But her she was she held her hair up while reaching in to grab the dumb bell. It was just out of reach so she gave in and dunked herself under to grab it. Swimming back she stuck the dumbbell on the edge of the pool and climbed out. As she went for a towel she giggled at the thought of the rest of her night at the front desk. She wondered how many questions she would get.

Masterful rendition of Gimli. It looks like a finely crafted graphite sketch. You know I'm a lover of detail and this doesn't disappoint. The hair in his beard has me mesmerized. His expression is perfectly stoic too, so his character is represented beautifully. What I note is that, despite the fierce expression and especially those eyebrows, there is a subtle softness about his eyes that hints at compassion and warmth beneath that gruff exterior. Lovely portrait.🥰👏❤️👏❤️❤️

Well, all recognition to Rhys-Davies' wonderfully nuanced performance in the films - this is Gimli of my own readings.

& yes, you have exactly the charcateristic which makes him such an endearing character; he can't help but follow the urgings of his heart which cause him to break more than a few traditions, including his slow to bloom friendship with his Elf companion. He is often grumbling at the angel of his better nature.

This is my long-tested go-to Graphite/Charcoal direction with one minor difference. I generated this with several models. Only RealVis5 produces that amazing detail work in his beard. That difference made my final choice for posting a swift and easy call.

The Cafe's RV5 is not as versatile as the one on HF that I use - but it *does* produce fine results.

It's fascinating the nuanced difference between the same base models on different sites. I think people (platform administrtors) just like to add something here and there. I think NC likes to selectively subtract more than it adds. Sometimes the pruning is OK other times its devastating. Funny how the net result always leads to a more expensive option as a replacement🤔

He was a marvelous character actor in the film. Speaking of the films, I'm planning on re-watching the directors cut soon. Jack and I have a treasure trove of snacks lined up and a new 65" super high def TV ready to go. Its going to be so nice to watch without cloud vision. 😄 

Gimli, son of Glóin, was a Dwarf of the House of Durin and a member of the Fellowship of the Ring. Unlike other Dwarves, he readily fought alongside Elves in the War of the Ring against Sauron at the end of the Third Age. 

After the defeat of Sauron, in the early Fourth Age, he was given the lordship over the Glittering Caves at Helm's Deep, which he presided over until he departed from Middle-earth. 

Gimli was the son of Glóin and a nephew of Óin, both former companions of Bilbo Baggins. He was a descendant of Durin the Deathless, father of the first house of the Dwarven people. Gimli was descended from, but was not a member of the royal line. Through his father, Gimli was also the first cousin once removed of Balin, Lord of Moria.

It is stated in *Unfinished Tales* that Gimli was prevented from traveling with his father on the Quest of Erebor because Thorin and Company thought him too young.
