It is a gregarious bird. Their calls can be described as "maniacal cackling" and are often accompanied by equally maniacal rocking back and forth while calling.

Wow! Just gorgeous!! I was wondering if this was related to the bird I know as a hoopoe but not related at all. Again on eBird, I looked at photos and listened to it. It's incredible in flight. Just so beautiful with its markings.
