Grotesque v1-1
For @Eogon for his generosity, and for the use of his LoRA.
Mampoer (pronounced "mum-poor" with a short "oo" sound as in "book") is a traditional fiery South African high-alcohol, distilled liquor. Mampoer is not usually aged, and is more likely to be marketed as a fruit brandy if it is. It is often made from a peach wash / base wine, but can be made from many other available fruits. When made from grapes, it is more often called witblits (white lightning).
The Groot Marico town and surrounding area is strongly associated with mampoer in the same way that Appalachia is associated with moonshine. This association is strongly reinforced by the literary works of Herman Charles Bosman. The town is named for the Groot (great) Marico or Madikwe river that is a vital lifeline in an arid area.
A caricature sketch of a South African farmer standing at his mampoer distillery. The image features a rusty shed, copper alembic still, peaches, bubbling liquid, and clear spirits, all rendered with bold lines and vibrant colors.
