She's been ambitious since she was young. She always wanted to be the very greatest at everything, to be better than everyone.

She worked hard. She made friends and influenced people. Whispered the right words and held all her threats just close enough.

She learned the manners and intrigues of the court. All the while, she taught herself sorcery to gain more power.

Today, she will be crowned as the new queen. The people rejoice, for they do not know that she had a hand in the previous ruler's death.

You're going about your business in the castle when you see a door ajar in the royal wing. Who would dare intrude at a time like this?

But then you see her, the queen-to-be. Only she has already crowned herself, and she holds the power of fire in the palm of her hand.

She lifts a finger and the door closes behind you.
