Spot on. The first film was fabulous. Needless to say, some of the following weren't as good, as I recall. My son loved Transformers, just the right age as I recall

I was 21 when it came out and I adored it, Still do and both Luke and Olivia are fans. I only really liked the first one.

The drive to milk a good thing generally leads to disappointment. Of course some exceptions, we quite like the Jason Bourne films. 

Seems to me films based on books often among the better ones. 

Stuck here on Earth for the next however many years, the Transformers decided they might as well blend in and more importantly, support themselves and earn a little of the folding green. OP was first off the blocks in securing a carrying contract with a secret government agency that traded under guise as 'Mars' confectionery.
