Tanning in the Front Yard

She couldn’t stand the stifling heat inside the house any longer. She needed some fresh air and sunshine. She grabbed her lawn chair and headed to the front yard, where she could enjoy the quiet and friendly atmosphere of her neighborhood. She had always liked her neighbors, even though they rarely saw her in anything other than her work clothes. Today, she decided to treat herself and wear her blue bikinis, the ones that made her feel confident and beautiful. She checked herself in the mirror and smiled, admiring her curves and muscles. She still had it, she thought, just like when she was in her twenties. She put on her sunglasses, poured herself a glass of lemonade, and settled into her chair. She felt the sun’s warm embrace on her skin, and closed her eyes, listening to soft symphony of the suburban world. She was happy and content in her suburban paradise.
