The motif of the three women is a very old one. The ancient greeks called them Moirai (which are also called the Three Fates) in their mythology, the germanic tribes called them Nornes.

There is also a (for me actually kind of "shocking") painting by Gustav Klimt called The Three Ages of Woman.
And Terry Pratchett also used this motif in several books with Granny Weatherwax, Nanny Ogg and different "young" witches.
He called this coven: The Maiden, the Mother and the Other One (since no one would dare to call Granny Weatherwax "old").

I still need to work on this idea and evolve it but since I also like to always try "new" / different things and can not spend too many credits each day. It might take a while till I will come back to it...

I figured there must be some deeler mythology behind it, that's all really cool! And yes definitely keep playing with the idea at some point!
