Granted, without some way to circumvent the speed of light, even this spacecraft would take a very long time to reach this planet. +That is, if it started from Earth.
If it was built within this alien world's solar system, then this spacecraft would be much more practical.
Even so, this kind of vessel might suffice for interstellar travel if the crew was prepared for a long voyage -- perhaps one spanning several generations.
