It is a terrible idea. For instance in Pembrokeshire Wales for some unknown reason they take tonnes of sand from the seabed to sell to the Dutch housebuilding market π€·ββοΈ it's causing alsorts of knockon problems with the beaches nearby and obviously the wildlife. On a better note there was a bit of coastline in Scotland that had been dredged for fishing and it was completely barren, they banned any further interference and within five years it was recovering in an amazing way biodiversity returned more than ever.
