Ca.1957: TOS USAF. No unit information before 1975. By 1975: 7th Bomb Wing, Carswell AFB, TX. It was also assigned to the 43rd Bomb Wing at Andersen AFB, Guam, but details as to which unit came first cannot be found, since both units had B-52Ds in the same time frame. August/83: Davis-Monthan AFB, AZ for storage. February/85: Ferried to Brookley Industrial Airport, Mobile, AL, where it was de-milled, and all explosives and flammable liquids were removed. June/85: Placed on a barge and transported to the Battleship Alabama Memorial Park. (text from https://www.airhistory.net/photo/609625/55-071/50071 ↗️)

Gorgeous and yes the Buff does smoke, a lot. Such a disgusting habit. 😁 On my last major exercise before leaving the service, we were in Darwin at Tindal air base, two, not just one, but two B52s did a fly over. Such a glorious sight and sound.
