2: It was the real second episode. As Blanche wanted a patio to drape herself on, she forced Coco into a seduction slam, of who would seduce the most construction workers. If Coco would win, he could stay, and Sophia would have to go back to Shady Pines. If Blanche would win, Coco would have to go.

The competition quickly turned sour. The final straw was, when Coco not only won, but also seduced the STRAIGHT hunk, Blanche was especially interested in. And even though he won, Blanche threw him out, as she wouldn't tolerate any such competition in her own home. Clearly, she didn't consider any of the other FEMALE Golden Girls a competition.

3: The straight producers feared though, that gay audiences wouldn't like Blanche's character because of this. Rue McClanahan thought differently. She left a note with the copy, claiming this to be one of the finest and most hilarious episodes of the entire series. It was presented to the public for the first time at the Frameline, the San Francisco International LGBTQ+ Film Festival at the castro in June of 2023, 38 years after its production. The gay audience reacted with a storm of enthusiasm and loved Blanche even more. As she did, what they would have done.

4: The reality behind this: Every detail is true, save one: This episode was never filmed. I had to bring closure to my mind and fill the gaps.

In the pilot episode, Charles Levin as the gay cook Coco lives with the Golden Girls as one of the main characters (see a publicity photo here: https://www.housebeautiful.com/lifestyle/a29156648/charles-levin-death-golden-girls-seinfeld/). Sophia was not supposed to be a main character, but a recurring one. But the audience reacted so well to her, that she, instead of Coco became a main character. Blanche's "boudoir" was still where afterwards the patio was. Neither this nor Coco's disappearance was explained in episode 2.

This mystery got solved in 2020: Rue McClanahan's contract made sure, she got to keep all the clothes, her character wore, which is very unusual. Her son inherited Blanche's wardrobe and kept it intact. During the pandemic, he had nothing to do and ventured into that dated fashion treasure for the first time. There he found the only known existing copy of an episode, his mother had smuggled from the set, wrapped in a negligé. (continued in the comments)
