As they finished eating an alarm beeped on Fairbairn's tablet. “We've got an incoming wormhole,” the Scot said. She looked at her tablet. “Receiving an IDC. It’s Stargate Command.”
“Lower the shield,” said Larkin. He motioned for his team to gather around the camera. The screen flickered to life and General Carter appeared. She sat at her desk, a couple of portfolios were neatly stacked off to one side. On the wall were several framed photos including her with SG-1, one with her, her father Jacob, and Martouf, and a large artistical rendering of the Prometheus and an F-302.
“SG-24, this is Stargate Command. Do you read? SG-24, this is Stargate Command. Come in please,” said General Carter.
“This is SG-24. We read you,” said Larkin.

Things are progressing so good in your story-well done Troxley-I am finally caught up. I haven't been on NC as much lately-just making sure I keep my streak but not doing much commenting. The screen reminds me of old home movies. Back when they were rented with projectors and film, before video.

After we finish here, I'll brief Construction Battalion 3. They all arrive later in your afternoon. Quartermasters are preparing their supplies as we speak.”
“Thank you, General,” said Larkin.
“In regards to the Goa’uld, I want to I want you to continue your observations. Defensive force only, as a last resort. Intelligence and protection of the villagers is paramount. Avoid escalation if possible,—if the Lady wants to polarize them, don't give her the chance,” said Carter.
“Understood, General,” Larkin said.
“And I'll have the Tok’ra High Council look at the symbols. I showed them to Vala; she doesn't recognize them.”
