There are many orders and ranks of power, shades of light and darkness amongst the fae. Kimber walked the fine line between darkness and light. She was a weaver of glamours, illusions that affected not just sight, but all the senses.
She could make a starving man in a filthy prison believe he was in a grand hall, partaking of a glorious feast. She could plague a transgressor with waking nightmares so monstrous and consuming, their hearts would burst from terror. She had done both, she had used her power to both comfort and punish, in her millennia of immortal existence.
Kimber gazed upon the mortal world with her glowing purple eyes, watching the humans in their paradoxical arrays of compassion and cruelty and sometimes delighted, sometimes despaired.
