Upon the sands where waves caress, A Labrador in deep distress, His master swam, then disappeared, Leaving him alone, revered.

With every tide, he roams the shore, His heart in pieces, longing more, For the gentle hand, the loving call, Now echoes lost, no sound at all.

His paws imprint the morning dew, Eyes searching skies of endless blue, The scent of salt, the cry of gulls, But no embrace, just empty hulls.

He waits where sea and sky unite, Through day and dark, through dawn and night, A faithful heart, a loyal friend, In hope that grief will one day end.

The ocean’s song, a mournful tune, Beneath the stars, beneath the moon, He dreams of days when they were one, Before the waves, before the sun.

Yet still he waits, with eyes so bright, A beacon in the fading light, For though he’s lost, he holds on tight, To memories of love’s pure light.
