The flames lashed out at him, the beast's maw wide open, ready to devour him - him, the real beast. As he fell, he heard a bitter laugh inside his head. The eternal female voice he had known since he was a child, all those centuries ago, before he was exposed to the Vortex. After that fateful night, things had changed for him forever. He had not heard her voice any longer. For him, she and her sisters became machines. He was not a passenger any longer, he became the Master. He did as he pleased with her and her sisters. One especially cruel time, he ripped open one of her sisters and turned her into a paradox machine. When she now cast him into the abyss he knew it was her revenge. He closed his eyes, awaiting his demise. When the humming started and she left this time and place, a blinding teal light exploded all around him.
