João Ruas (feral_kid; 1981 - ) is a visual artist from Brazil, who also has lived in the UK. His work drawings and illustrations depict characters in fantasy worlds that are placed within present-day surroundings. Legends and mythological creatures are a common and reoccurring subject within his images and illustrations and the entirety of Ruas’ portfolio is derived from issues that confront and associate alongside themes from imaginary domains. In his words, some of the inspirations behind his work are the dawn of mankind, folklore, Magic Realism, the concept of wabi-sabi (侘寂) and human conflict.
