Was inspired by stunning old painting "The Ballad of Lenora" (1839), by Horace Vernet, just have a look at the original, it's very cool!
And the story behind the original painting is from the poem "Lenore" by Gottfried August Bürger from 1773.
In short words, Lenore's fiancé, William, haven't returned from the war. She quarrels with God, saying He is unfair and never helped her.
But on one midnight mysterious stranger that looks like William comes to her and takes her on a ride, as he said, to their marriage bed, which turns to be his graveyard 🪦...😬
