10 Rillington Place: this squalid building housed one of Britain's worst serial killers, John Reginald Halliday Christie (1899-1953). Here it is seen on March 24, 1953--police are at the entrance to Christie's ground-floor flat (that he had shared with his wife until he murdered her, too, and put her under the floor-boards). Many female bodies were found on the premises (buried in the garden, walled inside a disused cupboard, and under the flooring). He dispatched his victims (before sexually assaulting them) with a contrivance of his own invention that administered deadly residential gas to the subject, rendering her unconscious. He then strangled them when he was "finished". The structure was razed decades ago; last I checked, a business and its parking lot occupied the former site of this murder house
This image depicts a rundown tenement in London, showcasing intricate details and deep colors, as if it were a fantasy concept art piece, with a focus on a dark and foreboding atmosphere.
