Ashbloom

Ashbloom is a rare, fire-born flower that emerges only in the scorched aftermath of forest fires, blooming defiantly from charred soil and smoldering stumps. Its blackened, velvet-like petals curl outward like delicate embers, surrounding a glowing red core that smolders faintly with inner heat. Despite its appearance, Ashbloom is cool to the touch, though it always carries the scent of burned cedar and rain-soaked ash. The plant has no seeds. Instead, it blooms only in places touched by fire, especially those with lingering emotional or spiritual resonance—battlefields, sacrificial groves, or sites of natural catastrophe. As such, it is seen as a symbol of rebirth, transformation, and memory, and is used in both funerary rites and rites of renewal throughout Sylvaran.
