Kai-shi and Shai-ki are diplomats at Applied Ectogenics. We call them twins, although that and the concept of 'siblings' legally no longer exist. Their DNA matches at the legal limit, and they have been conditioned to be as close to identical as possible.
Applied Ectogenics breeds, raises and employs twins to satisfy marketplace demand and further various internal technological initiatives. I'll explain those later. But also, as the public face of the firm, these twin diplomats manifest an image integral to the corporate ethic: that they don't just make, use or advance technology, they ARE technology. They also actualize the firm's virtues of efficiency, progress, inevitability and of course, beauty.
They're not on a mission here, but on an in-house simulation of an upcoming negotiation with an African country for mining rights. They'll probably get the deal, but since when has Applied Ectogenics trusted fate?
