“We know what it is,” Larkin said. “The Lady is using a potion called Nish'ta. When released into a person's blood stream, it makes him pliable: open to suggestion. The young people in the dissident’s camp are under its effects.”
“Is there a cure?” Simon asked.
“There is. A blast from a Zat'nik'tel. One blast from it stuns a person and it disrupts the organism,” said Fairbairn. She motioned to Helena to unholster her Zat. The Carmelite did so and placed it on the Wardroom table. The serpent-shaped device gleamed in the morning light from a window, alien and menacing. Simon recoiled as though he was struck.
“This,” Simon whispered, “is the same light Canon used. The weapon from his ring that called down thunder and lightning from the heavens.”
Helena met Simon’s gaze, her voice gentle but firm. “This is not the same, Simon. What he used to punish, we will use to heal.”

Cool idea, no idea what a Zat actually looks like in the shows 🤣
Simon swallowed, his eyes flickering to the Council Members. “And you would bring this light…among us again?”
“We can free them, every one of them,” said Larkin.
“We have two ways to free them,” Helena said. “I can use my Zat'nik'tel, or…” she hesitated, knowing the risks to her health and the visions that Maerwynn showed her.
“Or?” Simon asked.
“…or we could use Canon's ring to activate the Goa'uld weapons platform and release a pulse across the valley that will free them from their Nish’ta in one fell swoop.”
Fairbairn shot her a look. “You know the ring will burn you out, Sister,” she said.
Helena's temples throbbed at the thought of having to use the ring. She pressed her fingers there, to hold back the pain already waiting. “Yes, I'm aware. The Naquadah in my blood reacts violently. I could collapse before it's done.”
