Surreal Parchment Creatures Unfold in Dark, Intricate Art

She was cursed long ago to lose every bit of color in her life, save for her unnatural yellow eyes that mark her as accursed.

She is always cold, and she does everything in her power to feel the tiniest bit of warmth once more.

She paints her hair black as night and wears clothing to match.  Anything to trap what warmth she might be able to steal for herself.

After years alone, she paints black around her eyes and red on her cheeks and lips in the vain hope that bringing a willing human to her side will bring the warmth of their body.

All this manages to do is to give her the tiniest bit of warmth as her curse drains their lives before they can truly help.

But the small bits of warmth are addictive, and soon she takes to luring unwitting humans to her side for a few seconds of warmth.

This is the story of The Pale Lady, who succumbed to her curse and became a monster.

The stories don't say why she was cursed in the first place.

We may never know.
