On the night my father died, I heard loud slurping noises from the backyard. I was mad with fright! My hackles had HACKLES!!!
As the poor man gasped his last, I slowly made my way out the back door and encountered this majestic specter!
I watched, mesmerized, as it lifted it's tail and pharted out an unholy shriek, and then rolled onto its back and pointed to the cat brush that was laying on my father's picnic table.
I stood there motionless, in shock, and then it made a face of frustrated disgust and waddled off into the woodland night.
Sigh...what an experience!
@GADGKuhlengraeber mentioned something similar, but I don't think it had the same gravitas.

I find the idea that that is the last thing I could see at the end of life oddly comforting!
Ms. Sausage went into the woods to dance and partake in the rituals of witches past.
Take that silly black cloth off Ms. Sausage and give her the good brushing she wants. If you fed her less and a healthy food, maybe she wouldn't let out such unholy shrieking parts. 😆 (Good story, BTW. It made me laugh.)
