She was always having to answer that question and make up an excuse. "I forgot it" was her normal response but in reality she didn't have anything to forget. She hated swimsuits and was much more comfortable wearing whatever she had on. But today that excuse didn't seem to be working. When she was just sitting on the edge getting her jeans wet, the other seemed to buy it, but now that she was about to get all the way in, more questions. "You're wearing your coat too?" "Why not go in your underwear?" She smiled, they didn't know what they were missing. Finally, she responded as she sat down. "My underwear would be see-thru. And this is way more fun! You all don't know what you're missing wearing your silly swimsuits." Her friends all looked at each other and giggled. She was glad she finally said it. Now she wondered if anyone would join her the next time.

I can imagine him as a dwarf since some dwarfs have head and face shape/ features like average folks. During medieval and Renaissance times, kings and queens each had their own courts and it was fashionable to have a few dwarves or midgets in them - as "pets", jesters or companions even. Sometimes it was the only way they could live decently and not end up begging on the streets. No one was concerned about equality for all and thought nothing wrong with it. In fact, nobility would sometimes make a gift of dwarves they kept to a king or queen like they were 'owned'!
