A small old analog TV sits on top of a dresser in a small room, playing Saturday morning cartoons

My sisters & I used to go over to our neighbor's house in South Dakota, in the early to mid-90s, either before school during the weekday, or on Saturday morning, to watch cartoons (we watched Tail Spin, the Carebears, Gummi Bears, the New Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, The Wizard of Oz, Duck Tales, the Little Mermaid, Aladdin, & rarely an episode of the Neverending Story). We were never close to our extended family, even at times with each other, & with our parents. Doris was the closest thing to a real grandmother we ever had. She was kind & loved our family, even the dogs & cats, but she especially loved my younger sister, Rae (Rae loved her like a best friend & like a mother). I had a hard time staying in touch after we moved away, I have a difficult time getting close to people (I have truly been hurt). I have so much nostalgia for that time, & earlier, I wish I had appreciated those moments more, been more grateful for them, & told her how much she had meant to us, in person
