Ritchie began to mourn his grandfather's death after he spoke his last words to him

Note: In this sad story, Ritchie was at the Pokémon Center in Viridian City and his uncle called him to tell him that his grandfather had become very ill and he wants to talk to him before he dies and out of his great anxiety, he left Viridian City to quickly reach his home. When he reached his house and saw his grandfather lying on his bed, he told him crying not to die and to live forever, but he told him that he can't live anymore and that he will always be by his side which made him even more moved and before he died he told him "Goodbye, Ritchie! I hope you're doing well on your Pokémon journey and I'm sure you'll be as good a trainer as I was!" and Ritchie said to him in tears "Grandpa... why, grandpa, why?" as he continued to cry until his uncle and mother comforted him and calmed him down and told him not to worry about his grandfather and that he would always be by his side...
